Your new local dentists are Dr. David Lakatos and associates.
Community dentistry is their passion. David moved his dental practice away from the city because he wanted to work in a community where he could really make a difference. They believe in taking dentistry back to basics and building clinics where caring, personal service comes first.
"Our aim at Complete Dentistry is to create an environment where you feel comfortable and relaxed, and where the service is as gentle as it is thorough and effective."
David has practised dentistry for over ten years in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, having graduated with honours from The University of Queensland's prestigious School of Dentistry.

The first steps towards a lifetime of great dental health
Good (and bad!) dental habits are established from a young age, which is why it’s so important to get your kids comfortable with going to the
dentist as early as possible. Here at Complete Dentistry we go the extra mile to keep our children’s dental appointments short, positive
and pain-free, which helps to minimise phobias and encourage good dental hygiene between visits.
We recommend coming in for intermittent check-ups from the time the baby teeth first come through, as this will help us identify any potential problems
while building positive associations in your child’s mind. We’ve treated many first-time kids, so you can trust us to be as gentle and reassuring as you’d be!
At Complete Dentistry we offer bulk billing for services under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule. If eligible, The Child Dental Benefits Schedule
provides capped benefit entitlement for basic dental services for children aged 2-17 years. To check eligibility contact Medicare on 132 001.
Our children’s dental services include:
• Full check-ups and cleaning
• Diagnosis of dental problems
• Cavity risk assessment and preventative treatment
• Fillings and sealing of fissures
• Bite assessment
• Lifestyle and nutritional advice
Crowns & Bridges
Affordable treatments for stronger, better-looking teeth
If your teeth have become weak, decayed or damaged, crowns and bridges can restore their strength, appearance and functionality.
Using either crowns, bridges or a combination of both, Dr. Lakatos and the Complete Dentistry team will get your teeth back into working order and looking great.
Crowns - When a tooth loses structural integrity but still has a healthy root, a crown may be your best course of treatment
By taking an impression of the damaged tooth and manufacturing an exact copy, we can place this cap on top of the damaged tooth. Crowns are a long-term, natural-looking solution to advanced dental problems, but aren’t exactly a minor procedure, so we’ll give you as much advice and guidance as possible to help you make the most informed decision.
Bridges - Bridges are similar to crowns, except that they typically span across a gap from a missing tooth – they are essentially two crowns with a rootless crown in between. When teeth are missing, neighbouring teeth can begin to drift or rotate out of position, which can cause even more problems if left untreated.
Using the same method as with crowns, we will take an impression of your teeth and manufacture a natural-looking bridge to replace them. This might take a few appointments to get absolutely right, but once it’s done, you’ll have a long-term solution that will preserve the state of
your surrounding teeth.
Losing teeth can have a huge effect on your general health, wellbeing and quality of life. However with dentures, it is possible to restore both the aesthetics and the functionality of your teeth. Old or damaged dentures can also cause health problems due to difficulty chewing and swallowing, or
because of microbial growth.
Complete Dentistry offers a full range of denture-related services, whether you’re new to dentures or need repairs or replacements. We provide:
• Full Dentures
• Partial Dentures
• Implant-Retained Dentures
• Adjustments and realignments
• Denture repair
Getting your dentures fitted
New dentures usually take around four appointments, from taking initial mouth impressions to manufacturing the final denture system. Superficial repairs can usually be completed on the same day, whilst Relines and Additions to your current dentures can take a few more appointments.
Our approach to restorative dentistry
Dentures are only one way of dealing with missing teeth. When you come to Complete Dentistry, we will clearly explain all the pros and cons of your different options and give you the choice of how to proceed. If you decide to go ahead with dentures, we will give you all the information and guidance you need to properly live with and maintain them.
WARNING: Dental prosthetics should be replaced every 8-10 years. If you have had dentures for a long time, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, as old dentures can lead to pneumonia and other bacterial infections.
Complete Dentistry offers same-day treatment for urgent cases. If you are in severe pain or need a tooth fixed right away, please don’t hesitate to call or drop by the clinic. We are located at 30 William St, Kilcoy and at Burpengary Plaza, Station Rd, Burpengary.
Things that qualify as emergencies:
• Severe toothaches
• Abscessed or infected teeth or gums
• Chipped, cracked or broken teeth
• Knocked out teeth
• Lost fillings
• Broken or lost dentures, crowns or bridges
Emergency procedure for a lost or knocked out tooth
• Clean the tooth by gently sucking or placing in milk
• Try to reinsert the tooth once clean, make sure it is facing the correct way, and bite on a wad of cloth until it can be seen by a dentist.
• If unable to reinsert the tooth, it is important to keep it moist – DO NOT let it dry out. Keep it in cold milk or wrap it in plastic with saliva and put it on ice.
Gentle, pain-relieved tooth removal
Although we always try to save a tooth where possible, we might sometimes have no other option but to remove it. If this is the case, you can rely on Dr. Lakatos and the team to make the procedure as pain-free and stress-free as possible, using local anaesthetic, and if requested, inhalation sedation.
We will not usually proceed with a tooth extraction unless every other option has been explored – preserving as many of your original teeth as possible is always our top priority. Only after we’ve x-rayed and inspected the whole area will we make the decision to remove the tooth.
Cases in which you might need a tooth extracted include:
• Severe tooth decay or damage
• Dental Abscess
• Wisdom teeth causing pain
• Advanced gum disease
• Creating space for orthodontic treatment
The recovery period right after your tooth extraction is a critical time. To help ensure the extraction site heals as quickly and completely as possible, we will give you a comprehensive plan to follow, including cleaning and dressing the area (if necessary).
If you are suffering from ongoing toothaches or any other long-term symptoms, please contact Complete Dentistry!

Regular Check-up and clean
Because prevention is always better than cure!
Apart from daily brushing and flossing, regular check-ups are the most effective way to keep your teeth strong and healthy, no matter how young or old you are.
It’s best to get your teeth checked and professionally cleaned every 6 months – this helps to remove any built-up calculus, as brushing unfortunately can’t remove plaque once it is hardened.
We’ll also do a detailed visual inspection of every tooth, filling, implant or other dental device, giving you down-to-earth, easy-to-follow recommendations for your daily oral hygiene and any other lifestyle factors such as diet and smoking.
Your check-up will include:
• Full visual inspection and evaluation of your teeth and gums
• Precise yet gentle cleaning and polishing of all your teeth, including below the gum line
• X-rays (if necessary)
• Diagnosis and treatment plan for any problems found
• Daily oral hygiene tips, including brushing technique, flossing and mouthwashes
• Consultation on lifestyle factors such as diet, water intake, medication interactions and smoking
Get the perfect white smile you’ve always wanted
Dentistry is as much about preserving or improving your teeth’s appearance as it is about restoring their functionality. At Complete Dentistry, we offer a comprehensive range of teeth whitening services, both here in the clinic and for you to do at home.
Teeth whitening technology has come a long way in the last few years – it’s now possible to brighten your smile in as little as an hour or two, with little to no side effects.
Our teeth whitening options are as follows:
In the clinic – Extreme Teeth Whitening Treatment
Coming into the clinic setting of the dentist’s chair is the safest, most controlled method of getting your teeth whitened.
Our Extreme Teeth Whitening Treatment begins with a FREE full clean, and is then followed by about an hour of repeated applications of whitening gel. We then custom-fit a gel-application mouth-tray, which you can take home and use over the following days or weeks.
The in-chair method is recommended when you want results in less than two weeks, or when your teeth are severely stained.
At Home – Lifestyle Whitening Treatment
Our Lifestyle Whitening Treatment is the more affordable option, where you use the whitening gel at home over the course of a few weeks.
By wearing a custom-made mouth-tray filled with whitening gel, your teeth are gently bleached over the course of treatment. The great thing about this method is that you can choose exactly how white you make your teeth!
