It’s a long way to the top in rock-n-roll. Equally there are many hurdles for a community radio station. Apple FM broadcast for one week in October 1986 to almost coincide with the 150th anniversary of the 1836 founding of the Pentland Run by Ken Clarke. Two years later Captain Bacchus arrived and the main town became Bacchus Marsh.
Eventually, the station was granted a full licence in 2001, with some 200 members. Since then, Apple FM has had a working relationship with the Bacchus Marsh Pocket Book®, which had been started in 1990.
Usually the station program is presented here in the Pocket Book®, as the program has nearly always been about 80% unchanged by the coming of the next printed edition. But this year has seen such an influx of new members that the program is changing monthly; so the program is now at the AppleFM website and can be updated as needed.
Apple FM 98.7 transmits 24/7. This is your own Radio in Moorabool, holding a Permanent Licence. Please listen, enjoy and join as members. Let us know your community events, and let us help you enhance your business with sponsorship announcements.
